Terms
Terms of use
By using Whownit you agree to these terms. They are short: the site is for information, we work hard to keep it accurate, and the choice of what to buy is always yours.
Last updated Sep 2026
Information, not advice
Whownit publishes sourced facts about who owns companies and how they are connected to countries. It doesn’t rate companies or tell you what to buy, and nothing on the site is legal, financial or investment advice.
Accuracy
Every published claim is based on sources listed on the page, and we explain how we check them in our methodology. Ownership changes and sources can be wrong or out of date, so we can’t guarantee that every detail is complete or current. Check the sources for anything important — and if you find a mistake, please use Report an error on the page.
Alternatives and other websites
Listing an alternative is not an endorsement. Other websites have their own terms, and products, prices and availability can change after we last checked them. Some links earn us a commission — see our affiliate disclosure.
Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- send false, abusive or automated correction reports
- scrape or load the site in a way that disrupts it for others
- try to access the admin area or interfere with the site’s security
- present Whownit’s content as your own or imply that we endorse you
Content and trademarks
The site’s design, text and structure belong to Whownit. Underlying facts are not owned by anyone, and linked sources belong to their publishers. Company names, brands and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify them.
Liability
Whownit is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for decisions made on the basis of the site or for the content of other websites. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: privacy@whownit.com.
